Hi! I’m Jessica, welcome to Stitches and Sunflowers. Here I share sewing and DIY tutorials along with encouragement for young moms who are (like me) just trying to find their place as a joyful mother.
I developed a love for sewing and crafting as a teenager, and since then it’s only grown! While working on an Elementary Education major at BYU-Hawaii I took courses in clothing construction, sewing techniques and pattern making. I also spent two years working as a costume design assistant for the university productions.
I was married to my wonderful husband Levi in 2013. Our son “Littles” was born in March of 2015 and since then I’ve been a stay-at-home mom…which I love! It has fueled my passion for living well on a budget, which I share with you here.
I believe in being creative, sewing, eating well and creating a beautiful space is possible in all circumstances, even if it’s on a small scale. I love repurposing old fabric and breathing new life into old things. I’m crazy about chocolate and the outdoors.
I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I love my Savior Jesus Christ. Please, if you’re not religious, don’t feel turned away when I mention my faith. It’s a part of me that I can’t ignore, but I believe we can all appreciate and learn from each other no matter what our beliefs are.
Thanks for checking in, I hope you stick around!
